چکیده
Objective: The present study aimed to assess the thyroid outcomes six-months after radioactive Iodine-131 therapy (RIT) among hyperthyroid patients and identify factors associated with them.
Methods: This retrospective observational was conducted at department of Nuclear Medicine Molecular Imaging, Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre during 2013 2019. For purpose, 153 were studied retrospectively for six months RIT. data obtained from medical records. Patient baseline characteristics, clinical features, laboratory investigations, results imaging, therapeutic investigations acquired recorded in a structured questionnaire.
Results: Out screened records patients, 19.6% became euthyroid, 9.2% remained hyperthyroid, 25.5% developed hypothyroidism observed remission rate by end 80.95%. Three post-RIT, gender RAI doses had significant effect on function. frequency higher those treated an dose ≤ 20 mCi (83.0%) than > (17%). Moreover, most receiving radioiodine euthyroid (64.5%). Similar therapy, except replaced etiologies hyperthyroidism (p=0.009).
Conclusion: Radioactive iodine (131-I) is effective treatment hyperthyroidism. However, appropriate still debatable, as there high incidence post-therapy.

Transient cytotoxicity of 131I beta radiation in hyperthyroid patients treated with radioactive iodine
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Radioiodine ( 131 I) or radioactive iodine in low doses is used worldwide as the first line of management in the treatment of hyperthyroidism. Information is available on the extent and severity of cell damage after a high dose radioiodine ( 131 I) therapy for thyroid cancer, but information is scanty on its cellular effects, its extent and severity of cell damage after ...

The case records of 262 patients who received 131I therapy during a 6-year period were analysed retrospectively. These included seventy-eight patients who received more than one therapeutic dose. The major indication for 131I therapy was thyrotoxicosis occurring in patients aged 40 years and over. The racial incidence in this series is striking. The effects on thyroid function of two low-dose s...

Introduction: Radioiodine (131I) is an effective and inexpensive alternative to surgery in the treatment of thyroid hyperfunction. The debate today concerns the maximum and minimum ablative doses, and factors leading to hypothyroidism. Patients & Method: 1035 hyperthyroid patients treated with weight-adjusted ablative doses of 131I were retrospectively assessed for ...

The purposes of the study were to assess knowledge, self-efficacy, and perceived barriers on a low-iodine diet among thyroid cancer patients and to identify strategies for nutrition education. A self-administered questionnaire was developed based on a review of literature and pilot-tested. A total of 121 female thyroid cancer patients participated in a survey and 117 responses were used for dat...
